Yippee, the air filter box is now complete. After installing the air filter and tightening up the 2" clamp, the access hole for the clamp needed to be plugged. SO, of course I had to buy a whole bag of 1/2" rubber plugs on Ebay for $5 to get just one! :) The plug worked just as planned and now the air filter box is complete. And, since I was able to make a whopping 2320 Static RPM with the Catto 3 Blade, Gary hertzler insists that his 65 x76 Silver Bullet will be the perfect prop for us 520iS canard guys. Needless to say, the air filter and box design doesn't seem to be restrictive at all. As far as the prop goes, Gary thinks I'll see a Static RPM of 2525 which would yield some incredible climb performance to say the least. Unfortunately, Gary is leaving the country for several months, so I'll have to put up with the Catto for the summer. Summer love is a real thing, maybe this love will last when summer is over ;)
