Brief Description:  Probe update and wires run!

I've got a cool update concerning the fuel probes. I emailed Princeton Electronics and they said if I shipped them both units, they would repair the faulty one and re-program them both to be 2 set points intead of the annoying 5 set points. This enables me to simply calibrate them for empty and full and let the Garmin handle the details of the tank intervals. Cool! So now easier to use, and working correctly. I'll take it :)
Today I chose to tackle some fun stuff. First was filling the sump with breakin oil by Lucas that has a high Zinc content which is very important for the first few hours. UL engines have solid lifters so the cam lobes NEED NEED NEED Zinc for breakin. We gonna treat this baby right!
I then cleaned and installed the air filter. This was cool because I cleaned it with water, then installed it, and a couple minutes later I saw a small puddle of water under the plane. The drain valve worked! lol. With just a tiny amount of water dripping off the filter, the drain still did it's job. YES!
Next up was routing the ignition wires. I chose to upgrade my wires to an 8mm softer silicone 19 strand copper core wire. The ones sent from UL are made from a harder rubber and become very stiff when cold making it hard to remove and install the cylinder plenums. First world problems :) This job took several hours because of the solder work and routing required. Still fun though!
Finally, I bolted up the 3 blade so I could clean it up a bit. Tomorrow morning I'll install the nose gear and exhaust headers and roll her out onto the driveway to fire her up and get a static RPM. OH boy, lots of angry neighbors I'm sure. Muuah ah ah!!!
