Brief Description:  Oil line swap and other cool stuff

I went to bed uneasy about the oil lines being too tight with not enough strain relief. I woke up thinking about it too, so into the shop I went. SO my super high tech testing method of shaking the lines to see how much flex I had proved that one of the lines was ok, but the other was NOT and the difference between the two was obvious. I pulled off the tight hose and grabbed some fresh hose line for a re-do. I decided I'd re-route the hose at the same time so I needed an extra .75". This turned out to be perfect and now both lines are flexible and tuck nicely into the cowling. Now I can sleep :)
Next up was adding flame guard to the fuel return line and connecting it to the return fitting. After this was complete, the fuel system was complete. Now to finish off the oil system I needed a 90 degree elbow fitting from O'Reilly and some Gates 5/8" safety stripe fuel line. Fuel line specifically because if I run synthetic oil, it's the only hose that won't weep out the oil. Crazy that only O'Reilly has it locally. I was easily able to press the hose over the fittings by heating up the hose with a heat gun to soften the thick rubber. I added two adel clamps to spar face that routed the hose over to the wingroot. Now all is left is to trim it to length when the wings go back on :) Oil system complete.
Finally I made the decision to install the oil cooler and plenum WITHOUT RTV, baffles, air vanes, or honeycomb in order to get a basic installation baseline reading on temps. After the first flight I'll add each of them as necessary. I'm thinking at least one change will happen. We shall see.
I had another visit from the inspector today. Again, the install was Izzy Approved with a chocolate milk stamp of approval. :) Lots of engine pics today. enjoy
