Brief Description:  Finally some good news

Well I am very happy to report yesterdays and todays successful flights. First of all, I need to praise Gary Hertzler. His new prop (63x69) is absolutely wonderful. I'm off the ground sooner than the hercules, climb is good, and top speed has it beat by several knots up high and down low, all using almost 1/2 gallon LESS FUEL! Oh, and that would be 93 Octane pump gas by the way ;)
Found and stopped a couple small oil leaks due to loose fittings, and came up with an idea to help reduce blowby during the breakin period. I removed the one way check valve on the breather line and installed a section of SS 1/2" Tubing that I bonded aluminum honeycomb into. The idea is that the honeycomb will help diffuse the oil droplets before they can reach the air oil separator which is going to diffuse the oil again a second time. And it worked great! I'm losing HALF the oil that I was losing before. I may even make a much longer honeycomb section to really help. For now, I'm assuming the oil consumption is the result of rings breaking in and will see how it goes when I reach the 10 hr mark. Today I hit 4.7 hrs so after another short flight I'll drain the sump and give her nice fresh oil.
With the engine no longer leaking oil, and a new prop that has given me a new speed record, I think I can officially say I'm seeing the light at the end of the tunnel :)
Oh ya, and Oil temps have come down since the overhaul as well. :) All good news here.
