Brief Description:  Engine is back to business and with Ethanol

I can't tell you how many articles I've read on the use of Ethanol in aircraft. The massive warnings against it and especially in these fiberglass tanks we canardians have. I also can't tell you how many people have freaked out and called me an idiot for even trying it, but little do these people know, I've heard it all, read it all, researched it all, and have no worries at all about my methods. On top of all that, I'm definitely NOT the first canard to be running E10. Here's the most important points that MUST be stated before any of my readers decide to chime in.

#1. The fuel is a 50/50 mix of Ethanol and 100LL
#2. Each gallon of E10 is premixed with a fuel stabilizer to the recommended ratio. (Star Tron)
#3. My tanks were purpose built using EZ Poxy 87, following a full post cure cycle per the CP.
#4. My entire fuel system, including the engine uses Ethanol approved Fuel lines and hardware.
#5. The engine was NOT designed for leaded fuel and it is proven that a 100% leaded fuel diet ruins the valves and requires an overhaul every 200 hrs. In my case only 100.

With all this in mind, I am yet again, swimming against the current and have no problem doing so. Plus at each fill up, I will be performing a scratch test on the inside of my tanks in order to check for any changes in hardness. Being vigilant, and cautious is key here. Not to mention this engine runs really well on E10 and I'm looking forward to a successful first flight on it tomorrow evening. Stay tuned :) Oh, and so far, no rear main seal leaks ! :)
