Brief Description:  ALL UL Power Owners, READ!

This is a big update. After doing my annual compression test, 4 out of the 6 cylinders were low. Like 20/80 low. The air was rushing out the exhuast pipe on every cylinder and the result is a lead fouled exhaust valve that won't seat. This means I'll be giving every cylinder a valve job this week. How does this happen in just 110 hrs? LEADED FUEL. Get this: The scavenging agents in 100LL do NOT work if your CHT's are less than 396 degrees. UL Power engines are NOT made for temps that high and therefore leaded fuel can cause major problems, contrary to what the UL Power website advertises. There is good news in this however.
After I installed my ceramic coated exhaust pipes, I decided to start putting Marvel Mystery Oil in my fuel. When I removed my exhaust pipes today, the exhaust port was a LOT cleaner than the first time, actually showing no evidence of lead desposits, and only Carbon buildup. So If I MUST run 100LL in the future, then I'll be using MMO Every time. The thick lead deposits seen in todays pics are most likely due to the first 75 hrs where no MMO was used. I am however, definitely switching to Auto Fuel.
The other good news is that the stock valves are a plain 45 degree cut. By having a 3 angle cut, I should see more power and smoother operation. This alone makes this job worth it.
I've also decided that while the intake manifold is off, I'm going to go back to the original air/oil separator until blow by calms down, and also install a new Brand name Fuel pressure regulator.

Lots of scrubbing ahead for me and these pistons. Yipee.
