Brief Description:  Been a while, cool idea here, almost

So UL Power just put out a notice that a new thermostat(less) sandwhich plate is available for hot days. Ya, sounds like enough UL customers are complaining about oil temps, but they STILL don't want to engineer a true fix. So I thought, "heck, I've tried everything else, why not..." So I installed this new Sandwich plate and didn't really see any better temps per say, but it does give me more time to climb before temps get out of control. Oil constantly runs through the cooler now even from start up.
Now I will install the new Dual Pass Cooler I have and see how much that will help. I was able to cruise at 6k feet density altitude, 168kts TAS, at 3000rpm and 241 degrees oil temp steady. Mind you it was 74 degrees OAT up that high and I'm still not at redline, so I'm getting closer to an acceptable range but I'm nowhere near ready to go Full throttle without issue quite yet.
