Brief Description: Inner baffle complete and new vane
The turning vane I tried inside the naca duct expansion chamber was a flat panel slapped in with silicone and even at that a marked improvement was made. I've opted to make a new one using aluminum and curved to better direct the airflow. This vane will be installed using flocro. Should be an easy 2 day job. Next I took the 2 oil coolers with the cured BID and installed them on the firewall to confirm fit and hose lengths, noting the changes that will need to be made. I then removed the inner baffle layups and finished it all the way through paint. I then installed the baffle and coolers and applied a bead of RTV around the entire perimeter and all joints to ensure an air tight seal. Now as soon as the new -8 line shows up, I'll be able to build the new required hose and install this bad boy. If my oil temps don't drop significantly now, then Aliens have abducted my airplane and cursed it with alien oil. :) It'll be SO nice to finally put an end to this battle of oil temps that have plagued this airplane now for almost 2 years.
Top secret update: Hercules Propellors in England are now custom designing me a propellor. They are the only company that have taken the challange to build High speed UL Power props with great success. They even guarantee it. :) more later.
