Brief Description:  Regulator plate and wiring today

Today was beautiful, 70 degrees and sunny. The perfect day for spending at the airport. My first job this AM was laying up the 4 ply BID flange that will attach to the regulator and Naca Duct. Using WEST, I finished up the layup as a pre-preg and headed to the airport to place it in position before it cured. This will allow a me to ensure a really nice airtight seat while it remains removeable as well. This new regulator position, however is just out of reach for the 2 plugs and wires that attach to it. This means I needed to spend a good 2-3 hours on the floor, extending the wires. I ran to the store and grabbed some matching high quality 10awg wire for the extensions. I then split the wires in a clean spot and wove the strands together and flooded them with solder. I then used my new favorite liquid electric tape to seal the exposed wire, then added a piece of Heat shrink to ensure a very nice weather proof joint. Now my wires are plenty long enough to allow easy installation and removal of the new regulator that is coming in the mail here soon. Should be flying again by first of next week :)
