So I took the beast on a quick 15 minute test flight to see if the new oil cooler ducting idea would work as hoped and got a really interesting result. The CHT's didn't drop at all. not even a single degree. WEIRD. The Oil temps went through the 255 range within 5 minutes. WOW> gotta land now!
That can only mean that the air coming through the intake scoops is completely bypassing the 2" ducts. This will call for adding 2 ram air inlets above the ducts, OR splitting my intake into 2 sections. The lower ramming air into the ducts and the upper to the cylinders. Because I need the temps to trade places I will most likely split to intake into 2 sections. I've got a good 75 degrees to go on the CHT side before reaching redline so that gives me the room to start choking it down.
