Brief Description:  A big bad surprize at 50 hrs

SO I've hit the 50 hr mark which means more fun maintenance. Oil change, rocker tappet adjustment, new filter, and investigating the loss of oil mystery. Well, I removed the cowls and drained the oil. Then removed the filter and the oil cooler and drained it as well. I was also going to swap out my thorttle body with the original one due to the plug failure of the one I received as a dandy replacement. Seems like every issue that comes up, it's pulling teeth to get help. Time for some heads to roll up in UL Town if you ask me. Anyways, I got that swapped.
I then tried to see if I could find out why my oil air separator is spitting out so much oil. I disconnected the return line and ran a cable through it to see if there were any blockages and found nothing. I blew on it and found it took a good breath to get the 1 way valve to kick on. I'm hoping that's not the issue. I re-assembled it all and will test it soon.
I then went to wipe down some oil spots that were on the firewall and saw a horror in front of me. The right fuel sump was leaking. What looked like a massive Delam was bulging out of the fuselage side. I KNEW if was fuel. I took a small drill bit and drilled a hole on the surface and POP, out comes the fuel. WHAT! Well, I will be honest and say that when sanding the sump to fuse transition I was very aggressive and most likely sanded off too much of the BID tape. Now I will have to sand all this down, glass and peel ply, fill and prime. I drained the tanks and will allow it to air dry overnight, then out comes the 36 grit monster! lol. The good news is that the leak was between the skin and filler and NOT under the skin. I'll get it fixed up.
