Brief Description:  HOLY CRAP! Lucky day

So UL Power recommends tightening the massive bolt that holds the spinny thing on the engine at least twice within the first 25 hrs. Well I haven't done it and I'm at 38hrs, and decided, "I should probably do that." BOY AM I GLAD I DID. I took the top cowling off and the first thing I noticed was the set screw on the prop flange was almost completely backed out!!!! WHAT! I can't believe it didn't come out all the way! Surely one more flight and that thing would have been a gonner. Now that set screw is responsible for keeping the bolt retainer in place. I don't think the flange would have come out but the retainer most definitely and that would have been bad. I then removed the retainer, torqued the Main Bolt to 230Ft Lbs, slightly more than recommended and replaced the retainer. The retainer will now need to be re-drilled and tapped for a new set screw which is what I ended up working on tonight and when it goes back in, it will be getting a real good amount of Blue Loctite. The whole reason for removing the prop extension was to inspired by my Brand new Catto prop that arrives tomorrow! Custom designed and bult for this engine and airframe. Can't WAIT to see the performance I get tomorrow and the weather will be perfect. I tell ya, the FEDEX guy better be early!!!!
