Brief Description:  New Cooler location

After a lot of research last night I determined the best way to cool the oil would be to locate the cooler on the backside of the cooling plenums. However, when I arrived at the airport to size up the install, there was no way I would be able to fit the cooler on the plenum and Inside the cowl. It's just too large. Plus I would have to worry about high CHT's on the aft most cylinder. The good news is that there is another location that has several options and TONS of room for it. Right ahead of the oil sump. The cooler will lay on it's back allowing for a ram air scoop facing forward while dumping the excess heat into the lower cowling facing up. This would also circulate air around the Regulator and alternator. Later, if I REALLY want to, I can add an exit duct that I could lead inside the cabin for cabin heat, but I must say, this winter has proven that this thing is VERY comfortable due to the larger canopy keeping things warm. I will also note that this mod will allow a very nice transition from cowl lip to prop. I will head in the direction of a boat tail knowing that has been a proven speed mod in hopes to overcome any drag that is created by this scoop...

Update: UL Power has concluded that my mixture is too rich and is sending me a new ECU that should mean smoother power and more of it :) I'm a happy camper!!!
