Brief Description:  Prop removed, and engine prepped for big changes

After this last 2 hour flight I decided, sunshine or rain, the oil temps must come down before she flies again. The fact that I'm removing the cowls and going to be building an intake system for the cooler means it's gonna be a few days so I should probably take care of ANY engine business now.

Well, the engine has been running smooth, but whenever I accelerate the throttle fast, it stutters like the fuel mapping is wrong. UL says that incorrect fuel mapping would have to be WAY off to do that so instead, they are sending me an entirely new intake manifold, Throttle Body and TPS sensor. Oh and 6 brand new fuel injectors. Sounds like a big job, but should only take a day to have it all installed. The biggest cause for concern was a 375 degree EGT drop on final on 1 cylinder. Felt like the injector died. Anyways, UL is also sending out one of their own techs to come by and be a part of the entire assembly as well as a test run to make SURE that this solves the issue. Until then the aircraft is grounded. being the test bed for this UL engine has it's downs, but the customer service has been impressive. To all future UL owners, you're WELCOME!

On a sidenote, it's almost been 5 hours of engine time so that means, prop removal and checking the prop flange bolt torque. This gave me the chance to check prop and extension bolt torque as well and they were all tight to spec. Great! Starting tomorrow, the oil cooler plenum and intake system will begin. :) of course it will be super sleek and low drag ;)
