Brief Description:  Plenum air diverters

Go figure, the 2 cylinders furthest away from the CHT intake openings are way too cool in flight. Like 140 degrees cool. Coincidently, the 2 cylinders just ahead of them are running warmer than all the others. The spread is sometimes over 100 degrees! No problemo. I've decided to go ahead and make 2 diverters that will push air down on the hottest cylinders and rob air from the coolest ones. Things are VERY snug inside these plenums and design precision was crucial. I found that I could fit a 3.5" diverter across and down about 1". Originally I was just going to rivet them in place but knowing that I will want to fine tune the temps, it will be a TON easier if they are held in by a couple screws. After getting the temps JUST righrt, I'll remove the nut plates, screws, and permantently bond them in place. "WHEN" I make carbon fiber versions from a mold, I plan on it all being 1 piece including the diverters but it may not be possible. Thats a good ways down the road.
I also have had a heck of a time routing the plug wires through the access holes along with the rubber grommets. It's a REALLY tight fit in order to keep things sealed up, but a MAJOR pain. I decided to go ahead and Bond the grommets to the access holes which should fix the issue and make things a LOT easier. Especially knowing how low the CHT's have been, the SUPER tight fit is no longer necessary. I superglued the front side of the grommets, then added a bead of silicone on the back side for a vibration proof bond. I'm happy! Can't wait to fly her again. CLEAN injectors arrive tommorrow so the next time sun shines, I'll be airborne. :) :) :)
