The new Oil temp Sender arrived today so I was anxious to see if it would fit. As soon as I went for a dry fit I saw that the Diameter of the head was a little to large and would contact a part of the #2 cylinder wall. OMG, you've got to be kidding me....I was able to determine however, that by simply turning down the corners a bit, she would thread in just fine and I would still have enough flat area for a socket or wrench. This worked out fine but I'm still amazed that this engine was not designed to accept very many universal parts. It's very "Apple" of UL to be so specific. The Spark plug wires are a great example of that.
When finished installing the sender, I routed the wires along the Oil Temp hose and zip tied it with high temp zips for a clean install.
Let me jump back to my ignition wire problems. I left it with the intent to go buy UBER expensive higher quality low resistance wires and ends only find that NO ONE carries an end fitting that will work with UL's Coil packs. What a JOKE! I also noticed that instead of investing in High quality Wire like Granatelli's, they opted for REALLY high resistance cheapo wire from Bosch to keep the RFI out. This is a cheap "HP robbing" way to do it, but if nothing else works with the system then I'm out of luck. I went ahead and ordered a couple parts that I broke a few days ago, and will finish up the install when they arrive. For now this gives me time to work on fuel lines and plenums. :)
