Brief Description:  What a day...

So the mail guy arrived with my ACS package and the Fuel pressure sensor from MGL is MASSIVE. Not even a 1/8 npt fitting!!! GAH! back to ACS with it. On the other hand I found a way to use the Garmin Sensor by simply adding an NPT elbow joint at the top of the filter! Too easy!
I order my fittings from the best place on earth: ANPlumbing.com. I also knew that I needed to order an oil cooler that will fit my cowling so I spent 2 hours analysing every possible cooler location on the airplane. This has been a burden to EZ guys for years, but one location has always worked really well and it's ironically where UL built brackets for theirs. Right between the oil sump and propellor. In my case I'll be Pulling the air through the cooler.
The oil cooler kit that came with the engine is great, but too wide. It's a 16 row cooler and 11.5" wide. I need something more like 8" wide and I found JUST the cooler. Funny, but Earl's coolers are identical in spec to the UL power coolers so I orderd a Narrow 16 row cooler with mounting brackets. I know for a fact the the UL brackets will work if I'm willing to cut and weld them shorter for the shorter cooler, but we'll see if the ones coming with the cooler will work just as good!
The plan is to build a VERY easy inlet option on the bottom of the cowling that can be swaped out with a different size inlet depending on cooler performance. Cowling work will be fun...
Finally, I decided to end the day by installing the exhaust pipes. Took a freakin hour and half. The tolerances on the mounting screws are SO small that each pipe had a specific way they had to be mounted. My gosh. I hope the next set will go on for good and be DONE. But they look AWESOME and the Dyno results show they work great!
