Brief Description:  Fuel lines and throttle cable

Starting to install the engine components is a little nerve racking due to the fact that the firewall is DONE and no changes can be made. One of the first issues came up after installing the Return fuel line and fittings. The Fine Filter has a banjo fitting made to accept a Fuel pressure sender at the highest point in the fuel system to ensure the massive 43 psi required for this bad boy. Unfortunately, I placed the filter about 1" too high and the sensor plug will now interfere with the cowling lips. hmmm, ok so I can build a bracket and move the filter DOWN, OR buy a shorter fuel pressure sender for $120. Grrr. I'd rather not change the firewall layout so I think I'll throw down the $120. Anybody need a really nice pressure sender?? :)
The second issue arrived when installing the throttle cable. The UL power install video shows the install for a 4 cylinder. However, they made small changes to the 6 that caused problems. First was the throttle cable bracket needed trimming to avoid contact with the air filter. Second was the throttle cable end fitting was 1.125" too long! DAH! After several hours I was able to determine the need for a bracket to attach to the engine side that would not only solve this issue but also allow more movement of the throttle in the cockpit, giving more resolution and better control over the power settings. I made the bracket from .090 2024 and 3 small bolts. I also oversized the holes to allow small movements in the bracket for really fine tuning later. Glad it worked out this way, but still annoying.
