Brief Description:  Lower Cowl Comes to life

I absolutely love working with Carbon BID. The lower cowling plug got 2 coats of wax, then 3 plies carbon including an added 2 plies on both sides for rigidity. I had to be creative in propping it up, using foam and wood blocks due to how flexible the Plug was. I think I lined it up pretty good.
I am a little worried however about the sides. One in particular got really deformed due to the addition of exotherming Z-Grip. I did my best to straighten it out but I'm sure it will need a lot of work to get a good fit. Again, this cowl can be beat up as it won't matter when the new one is made next year. For now this will do.
Allowing the carbon to cure, I headed to the airport and prepped the underside lips with aluminum strips and clecoes. The strips will be bonded to the cowling just like the top cowl and used for a reference for the forward cowling lip.
