Brief Description:  GIT R DONE!

Today was time to rock n roll day. Starting out at 10am I began by not only marking and drilling out the bottom cowling to wing lip, but also, RE-Drilled the top right cowling to achieve a straighter line. This job actually went a lot smoother than I thought it would. I needed that!
I then inspected the lower cowl plug and found the Glass really wasn't cured enough to try removing the plug. Bummer! I grabbed the heat gun and spent 10 minutes getting the surface really hot to help the cure. It worked. 1 hour later she was ready. I am SO glad I used that bid tape as a line to follow, as removing the plug was a snap! I also made sure to give it a really good sanding prior to removal.
I then packed up the plug, some supplies and headed home. My goal was to layup all the carbon tonight, but after adding filler to the plug and sanding it down, it was getting late and I was BEAT!
For now it 99% ready for carbon. I'll wax it up real good in the morning, Layup the carbon plies and let it cure until Sunday. Lots of elbow grease, but once again the mighty DA sander was a hero!
