Brief Description:  Lots of prep and Resin be gone

Well, crap. I've got more West systems resin on the way this week but I ran out after only half of my lower cowling application. Dang. She will have to get her 2 more plies of BID before she sees anymore micro I guess. Either way, I cleaned her up and then re-installed her for her 3 day cure cycle on the airframe. Now I had to look for someothing else to do. I got it!...
Next up was trimming the aft end of the upper cowling to be an even 3.25" forward of the prop blades to avoid the nasty pressure wave interupting the airflow out of the cowling. Using the Fein I was easily able to trim her up. I then installed the spinner assembly and man, I gotta say, I'm having a tough time getting into this hershey kiss spinner business. I emailed Gary Hertzler about it, to get his opinion, but I do know that the flow guide looks really nice. I'm just thinking a standard spinner would be more appealing. Then again, the ease of NO spinner is also tempting :)
I then cleaned up shop and decided to get ready for re-calibrating the fuel probes for auto fuel. This included wet sanding the area around the fuel cap, removing the tape, finessing the primer edge and installing the fuel caps. I also removed the probe boxes from the spar area. I'll put the battery on the charger tonight because it will be busy tomorrow using the fuel pumps and transfer pump. A whole day job for sure. In fact, I went out and filled my gas cans with 22 gallons of premium fuel so I can get started first thing in the morning. I'm just hoping the shop doesn't fill with fumes all day. yuk. On a REALLY great note, I talked to Joe Person about ez poxy and ethanol and he said he's had a sample of it sitting in E10 and auto fuel now for 30 years with no issues. Now that's a real life test!!
