Brief Description: Micro sanding and round 3 spot filler
Today was a workout. Block sanding the cowling and using almost every DuraBlock I had for all the complex curves. It worked out well. I definitely have some major low spots which will mean a rediculous amount of filler, BUT I plan to use this cowling during breakin and then use it as a plug for a mold which will allow me to build an all new lightweight Carbon/Kevlar version. Oh ya :) After contouring as best I could, I then used a straight edge to expose the areas needing build up. Then I removed the cowling which was way easier than I expected. The foam stayed in place which is a big help. I then mixed up some fast cure West and started caking it onto both the cowling and fuselage to create a smooth transition. Up next will be Z-Grip spot filler and finessing the gaps. :) Moving right along...
