Brief Description:  Paint n clear woes

So as much as I love this paint, it sure would be nice to shoot it using a $1500 gun inside a professional booth. Seems a flawless paint job won't come without a cost otherwise I'll need to settle for small imperfections here and there simply because my equipment and location is sub par. For now, I'm considering getting away from the Matte finish and going full gloss because the only true way to get a uniform surface texture is by cutting and buffing. Otherwise I'll have to re spray and entire section and that's not an option. Full Gloss has it's benefits. Jury is out. Finding out that the clear doesn't level by itself as good as I hoped was a little depressing. I've also found that it takes a THICK coat of clear in order to get a smooth texture and those $25 cans don't last long. I may be trying to shoot some clear out of a quart and HVLP here soon. Everyone I've talked to says Clear is the toughest to shoot right.
I was also able to add another round of spot micro to the sump today. This was one heck of a job that will soon have primer. thank God
