Brief Description:  More fun with paint

I don't like the idea of buying 50 cans of spray paint to paint my airplane. Something says disaster when I have that thought. I went ahead and bought a gallon of Rustoleum Aluminum Metallic Enamel to try shooting through the HVLP and it turned out ok. Orange peel for sure, even when reduced. Not sure what would make it lay down right. It REALLY Shines with a nice Satin finish though. I also picked up some more spray cans to try out. This time, Dark Steel metallic and champagne. The champagne is a little bland but the Steel is stunning. It was almost impossible however to avoid tiger stripes as these cans really aren't meant for a large job. Oh how I wish they made these paints available in quarts and Gallons. I may even give them a call. If not, I may have to find a close match in a single stage Urethane which of course is "real" airplane paint. Just more $$$
