Brief Description:  Let's sum it up

So here's the nutshell. in order to fix the canard, I had to spend a solid 10 days to re-glass, fill, skim, and contour everything. I never took the time to really contour the canard correctly so this was the perfect excuse. The contour is now flawless and I believe is was a major factor in todays flight performance. So back to it... After prepping the canard for primer, I decided to forego the primer and go straight to the wrap instead. I've been dying to test the surface temps of the Arlon Vinyl.
Wrapping the canard was horrible. It is said that it takes about 2 years to become a professional wrap installer and I have NO DOUBT that is true. My job was barely ok. I was nervous about flight testing it, but woke up this morning confident that I took the necessary steps to ensure it would perform and it did. In fact I was getting up to 2000ft. per minute on climb out and give credit to the canard as nothing else has changed. The elevator contour ended up being poor due to my aggressive sanding impatience and will need to be recontoured again, but they fly fine for now.
Finally, I've now found that the temps inside my cowling are way to high. The wing roots are expanding and the AP servos shut down because of it. This calls for some changes asap. First, I plan on getting my exhaust ceramic coated within 2 weeks which will help a ton. In the meatime I'm adding a micro lip to the cowl to create a low pressure zone aft of it, hopefully pulling the hot air out more efficiently. We'll see how it works on Fridays flight.
