Brief Description: Lot of time for a little progress
Man, it's no wonder why ch 25 "finishing" takes as long as it does to build an RV! To fill and sand all the little voids and pinholes takes FOREVER. I've now got the second round of primer on the ailerons and still a few spots that need touching up. I've got a busy weekend so I may sneak into the shop to do a little micro spot fill if I can. I'm also VERY tempted to wrap these in my Gunpowder vinyl as I want to see how it stands up over time with the cold and hot temp changes. if the wrap puts up with the next 4 months of flights I think it's safe to say that the rest will go well. We shall see... All I know is that I only have enough primer right now for one more round so the next one needs to be the last :) On a good note, the first round of primer only added 1 ounce of total weight. My sanding has been pretty thorough. The ailerons are now up to 7lbs 2.2 ounces and balance just under top skin level.
