Brief Description:  Paint paint paint

With the help of a little more z-grip I was able to start painting. I LOVE LATEX PAINT. After spraying some flat black inside the panel box and on the door, I fell in love again with Latex. SO Much nicer. The black spray was necessary as a base coat for the hammered paint to stay dark, but also for the door to match the rest of the panel. I may even clear coat the door for protection and a nice satin sheen.
Now moving on to the nose hatch I was sanding it down in no time. All the final micro spots then the whole thing with 180 grit, then the scotchbrite pad. I couldn't go to bed knowing that paint could be drying overnight so I cleaned it up and put on a nice thick coat of black latex. Dabbing it on like the rest of the fuselage, the texture is just stunning. The pic shows a shine to it only because it's fresh paint. I'm very excited about how this hatch turned out. I may go for a second coat tomorrow if I need the coverage but right now it's fabulous.
