It was a primer party today, Everything got a load of 180 grit and was sprayed with grey primer. 3 coats actually. I decided that Grey will be the final primer this time so the airplane matches. I also decided the top cowl needed to come home and join the party. From now on however, things are going to be finished differently. My time with Joe C. last week taught me that sanding to only 220 grit was more than enough for a nice smooth surface. No need to buff out the primer to a shine. This will also be true as I begin sanding the rest of the airplane down after delam repairs and contour work is done. Right before applying the wrap, it will get further sanded down to 1000 grit for a better adhesion, but no more 3000 grit shine for me. Moving on....
