Brief Description: naca Dry fit success and final micro
So after "sleeping on it" I went ahead and added a couple thin flanges to the sides of the Naca duct to better seal off the cooler, affectively minimizing the RED RTV that will be needed for an air-tight seal. I then took the whole assembly to the airport for a dry fit on the firewall and belly. The fit was 99.9% Perfect! Just a wee bit sanding of the firewall and she will be ready for bonding in place. Knowing this, I took the duct home and ran a bead of micro inside and outside of the newly installed flange. After cure it will be sanded down and this duct will be permanently installed on the aircraft. I'll mention I can already tell that the lines flowing into the cowling will be OH so Sexy. Best lower cowling lines yet... to come!
