Brief Description:  A time to wrap...and a time to kill

I prepped the Wheel pants for Vinyl Wrap by filling the last of the obvious holes, then wet sanded them with 220 grit, then 400, then 1000. Totally excited to try out the wrap, I decided to start with the most difficult of wrap jobs; a complex curved surface that requires pre-heating the vinyl. Well, lets just say I wasted $30 of 3m vinyl learning valuable lessons. unless your wrapping something simple, small and flat, wrapping is NOT A ONE MAN JOB. For this one, in fact it's more like 3 or 4 to get the job done right. all 4 corners need to be pulled tight, while someone heats the vinyl and someone else holds the part in place and someone else trowels down the wrap. What a Headache!!! Not to mention, the vinyl is sticky enough to pull out arms hairs which only get stuck under the surface and look terrible. Either way, $30 to learn what NO ONE should try it alone.
The good news is that the sheen of the 3M matte Black is stunning and the quality is all 3M. I have no doubt that this stuff will stay on the airplane for several years and take a beating. That's for SURE!
We'll get this one way or another....but now I wish I had children ;) like 5 of them.
