Brief Description:  Primer prep and Tank Drain

During this last summers heat wave I pushed the Ez outside for an awesome photo shoot and while it was baking in the sun, the surface temps got up to 160. While most would say that's too high, science says is AWESOME, because now I have a stronger and posted cured airframe. The ONLY down side to a post cure is the inevitable print-through and contour changes. The different materials and thicknesses on the skin cure to a different thickness during the post cure. It's only a pain when it comes time to re-contour that PERFECT surface that I worked so hard on to get there. HOWEVER, it is now in it's final shape and won't change again. Before here first flight I want to reduce the waves in the wings as much as possible so I blocked down the top of the wing where ridges were and then spot sanded everywhere else that showed signs of poor contour. Doing this now is great, but doing it to PERFECTION right before paint, will ensure a show quality paint job for the life of the airframe :) Well worth it.
The other task today was to prep for tomorrows big weigh in. This will be the 4th time i've weighed this bird, but the ONLY time using certified scales, so it will be the ONLY one that matters. I drained the tanks again in prep for the weigh in. I'm surprized how one set of scales showed a weight of 714lbs and another set was like 968lbs! who's making these scales? I'm crossing my fingers tonight for a number that is under 825 and anything in the 7's will be mind blowing!
I've also got to re-calibrate my tanks again, due to a wiring issue that is now solved. This time it's Garmins lack of common sense, and not Harrison Avionics. Tomorrow will also include full aircraft primer application. ALL ONE COLOR!
