Brief Description: Top Cowl Primer and Bottom Cowl Micro
|
|
Moving right along here. As temps drop to 40 this week, I really can't be shooting primer in the hangar. Good thing the glass work is done too, and right in time. I started my morning by sanding down the Micro spot filler on the top cowling, which using a DA, made the job a breeze. After Prepping it all up, I sprayed 2 coats of Primer that will really be more of a guide coat that anything else. Next I headed to the airport, made notes for the bottom cowling, removed it and brought it home. I then mixed up several cups of Micro and spread it on real thick around the visible voids and border, where it's needed the most. I then took the left over Micro and spread it over the Top Cowling where I could see obvious voids would be needing it. Tomorrow, Both cowls will be sanded down and while the top cowling gets skim coats, the bottom cowling will get Z-grip, then primer. Gonna be nice and warm in the garage all day. :)
