Brief Description:  Black is back on track jack

Okay, this is NOT flat black. It says it is, but it's more eggshell. So there's not enough black to justify buying a gallon of the Marquee, so I'm sticking with the Rustoleum Flat Black. It's latex as well so compatibility won't be an issue here. Nonetheless I love the sheen it has and it's a perfect patch to the panel and cockpit hardware already finished.
I laid down 2 coats in the baggage area which was "fun" painting while hanging upside down over the strakes. :) But odd enough the baggage area was much easier than squeezing my arm and brush inside every cavity in the nose. The nose got only 1 coat so far and the second will only be added to areas that are visible or high traffic for durability. The first coat is good but doesn't quite give full coverage so a second is needed in these areas. The texture produced using different techniques with the brush is really neat. Laying it on it's side and slapping the surface creates a whispy affect that after cure is very subtle but adds a lot of character. I'm really enjoying this.
Tomorrow, the turtle deck and longerons will get 2 coats as well as the nose areas mentioned above and finally the false wall I built. I may also go ahead and re-paint the passenger thigh support as well if needed for a perfect patch.
After interior paint is finished, it's on to the firewall and engine install baby!!! Things are going to start moving fast!!! Oh that reminds me, I found some AWESOME SUPER lightweight carpet to install on the floors. Stay tuned!!!!
