Brief Description:  She's been redeemed and it's a whole new ballgame

When it comes to paint, I think I'm about as fickle as they come. However, today that ends.
From the beginning it has been understood that Latex based paint is not as durable as oil based, or using a 2 part system. But today's technology has almost changed the rules. Introducing Behr's new exterior latex paint: Marquee. Virtually any color you can imagine, Dead on match to their paint swatches and durable as heck! In fact, I put their claimed "durability" to the test after a 2 hour cure and OMG. I found the color that I've ALWAYS tried to find, with no luck and in a FLAT. Flats are known to be the worst in durability, but best in hiding imperfections, so if their claims are true then it's the best of both worlds. I took 320 grit all the way up to 5000 grit paper and wet sanded it and this is TOUGH stuff. In fact I was able to "polish" it up a bit to give it a little more sheen than a boring flat without cuting through both coats and it looks great. For a GOOD sandable base, I'd apply 2 coats, but it definitely covers in 1. amazing. In fact, I put it right over the oil based paint and it sticks to it incredibly well when prep sanded. Let's just say that for $40+ a gallon it is WELL WORTH the expense. I also noticed that after brushing it on, I was able to "stiple" it with my brush and give it a really nice even texture that covered a TON of imperfections. I tell ya what, throw away that rustoleum and go buy an easy to use, water based gallon of Marquee in any color you can dream of. This stuff is amazing.
And to be honest, I actually enjoyed painting for the first time. imagine that!
