The lower cowling lip was built fine, but the glass weave was really rough and I can see down the line a lot of wear on the cowling due to vibration. I opted to add filler and primer to avoid this issue. I had saved a cup of already mixed primer from yesterday and brushing it on was a snap. I'll wet sand it tomorrow. The main event today however was to get at least the first coat of paint on the interior and I did more than that! Step 1, I used filler on all areas that were in obvious need, then sanded down the area. I then added 1 layer of hammered over these areas to bring back it's texture. After letting the hammered set up for 30 minutes I started the LONG awaited interior paint. Starting with the Almond I slowly started working my way from front to back. MAN this took a long time and the first coat was really depressing because coverage was so poor. However, after letting it tack up I laid down a second coat and BOY DOES THIS ALMOND POP! Now don't judge me yet as I didn't use tape lines this time around. That's for the black to take care of. I'm sure with the garage lighting, I'll have some runs to level out, but I plan on bringing it down to a Satin sheen anyway so the sand paper is no problem. Tomorrow, she gets Satin Black! BMW watch out!
