Today was the most eventful primer day to date. Half way through spraying the first coat, the gun started puting out hardly any primer even when opening the needle a LOT. This was really bad timing. I ended up taking the gun apart completely to find a VERY important vent hole was clogged with dry primer. This vent allows the canister to "Inhale" air while fluid is being dispensed. I had to thoroughly clean the gun for it to opperate again, but after doing so, ol' miss harbor freight was a dead winner once again. I need to inject however that I ran out of Kirker reducer and went for the Acetone again to find that I actually prefer the Acetone now for reducing. I am constantly getting a faster flash and smoother finish comparred to the kirker reducer, not to mention it's a LOT easier to find and much less expensive. Go for the Acetone! I prepped the fuse with duct tape and brown paper this time as the blue painters tape and plastic was a huge fail last time. I also ws able to get another 3 coats of primer on the gear legs which now puts them at 5 rounds. Overall I think I saw about 3 pin holes that I missed so after sanding to 3000 grit tomorrow, if I blow through any of the primer, then I'll have an excuse to set up for spot spraying again and tackle those little buggers. However, I'm 99% confident that wet sanding tomorrow will conclude the grey primer until the cowling and pants come in to play. Gooood times.
