Brief Description:  Fuse Top Primer round 1

8 hours to completely block sand the whole upper fuselage, wash up, tape up, and lay down 3 coats of primer. In fact I mixed up 1 full quart of primer and it was literally JUST enough for 3 coats. Awesome. Bad news is that I only have enough primer catalyst for another 2 coats. I rushed an order for some more but I'm sure I won't see it till wed. next week. On the other side of that coin is a blessing. I'm not looking forward to contouring the gear leg fariings because it's working on the floor, however, it MUST be done and I'm sure I have enough primer kit, to get them completely done by the time the catalyst arrives. This will be my motivation. I've also found a few annoying low spots on the lower sides of the fuselage that I can tackle as well with all this "time" I now have.
The interior paint continues to impress me by the way. Today, when taping it off it felt so robust and the texture was just awesome. A couple spots inside will also need attention but I see this birds paint and primer being totally finished in under 2 weeks. Just in time for a July avionics and Engine install. :) I then see a cowling being built and finished through primer during the month of August and a September Airworthiness inspection. Funny, Sep, 26th I was handed my private pilots license. How cool would it be to solo this bird 3 years later on that day...:)
