Brief Description:  Some good news

So here it is: I thought of rolling or brushing a few coats of slurry skim on the entire interior in hopes that it would not only build up over the imperfections but also give a nice texture to hide things even better. However after coating the headrest panel I started seeing big differences in the consistancy of the skim and I really don't want to spend 3 days adding heavy skim coats in hopes to get a good texture out of it. Instead I had another idea...
The hammered spray paint goes on REALLY thin and doesn't really build very well comparred to the brush on hammered paint. What if I put 2 or 3 coats of brush on, would I get the build and texture that I'm looking for? BINGO. DONE. FOUND IT> After only 2 coats of brushed on hammered paint, some of the biggest voids in the filler were being filled in and textured to make them almost invisible. Now, Rustoleum does not make a light colored brush on hammered paint so I now have to see if I can use this black hammered paint as a texture coat and still get good coverage from the white. I busted out my "Satin" white paints and realized that I had 3 different whites. Oops! Which one? So I sprayed each on the headrest on each side and found that I keep coming back to the Navajo White every time. Problem is that it's glossy and they don't make a Satin version. The final test will be taking a 5000 grit pad to the white and seeing if I can get a Satin sheen without discoloring or scratching it. If I can nail this white then I'll be using 5000 grit pads from now on to match sheen. And even the black will get it. This is it! I'm hoping for good results after cure in the morning.
