Brief Description:  Canopy and Canard Primer

So the canopy scratches have an interesting tale to tell. I was able to fill the scratches with my "turtle Wax clear coat scratch repair pen" It's a clear resin that cures in about 24 hours and after sanding the surround glass was not visible at all. While this is COOL I still felt that I'd rather have a perfect canopy reflection and I had more than enough visibility to work with, so I decided to raise the primer line. I also didn't mind this because after my second failed attempt to prime the repaired pin areas with brushing on primer I was gonna be shooting it anyways. I taped off the front 1/4 of the canopy, then added another round of filler and blocked everything to 180 grit. MUCH better contour now. The problem with brushing is that you HAVE to block it because it isn't a perfect surface. This means it almost impossible to avoid cutting to deep. I need a perfect primer surface that I can go straight to polishing and NOT remove too much primer. After getting 3 good coats on the canopy I noticed my tape line is a wee little bit off. no worries though, it will be a very simple fix and gives me a chance to block down this primer one more time for an even better contour overall.
I also blocked down the final coat of black primer on the canard, removed all the tape and laid down 3 final coats of grey. Tell ya what, that Acetone gives a great surface as a thinning agent. The canard will be spit shined tomorrow and the elevators are next in line :D :D
