Brief Description:  Canopy awesome and canopy oops

I was incredibly nervous about removing the tape so I did a lot of research and no one could say "When" the right time is but I did learn HOW to remove it. I was planning on removing the tape tomorrow thinking I'd let the primer cure a little more, however I saw this morning that it was tack free so I started sanding from 600 grit to 3000. I also knew that I wanted every square inch of that primer to be finished BEFORE removing the tape so I was happy to sand everything first thing this morning. I was also very cautious to use little pressure and more movement to keep from cutting through the primer too far. I found that wet sanding gave a truer "feel" to how much an area needed before switching grit. As soon as sandpaper started gliding more than cutting I'd move on. This worked really well but there are still some spots that are a little smoother than others. But this is primer so It will do. After hearing from a friend about using a razor blade to avoid pulling the primer off with the tape I was ready to do that but wanted to see how it did without first. When starting to remove the tape I literally went SO slow that it took 15 minutes to get it off. I'm happy to say the removal could NOT have gone better. Absolutely PERFECT tape line. I've concluded that a 24 hour cure is the ticket. Not to soft and not to brittle.
So here's the bad. All the work required to finish the exterior took a toll on the interior paint where th canopy sat on the sawhorses. Big gouges needed to be filled. I did this including a few more pin holes I missed and layed down 3 good coats of satin Black. I'll be hitting it again in the morning to get my new wrinkled look and hope the affect is the same. All in all I'm VERY happy. She is almost ready to be wrapped up and put away.
