Well I have to say that I'm shocked. I had no idea how much filler I had put on this canopy until today. I'm very glad I went to primer as it exposed everything I couldn't see as soon as I started block sanding. In fact It was taking so long to cut that I had to switch out my 80 grit for 36 grit and it still took a considerable amount of effort to bring the contour into a uniform shape. What I didn't see it that the top forward part of the canopy curved up and then back down before reaching the glass. My intent is to have a nice even transition straight into the glass with a radiused lip. I think I'm almost there so after the soap and water dry out I'll be spot filling all over and priming again. As I see it, the canopy shouldn't need more that 3 sessions of primer to be complete. More later
