Brief Description:  3rd times a charm...or is it..

It's now been 48 hrs from the last canopy frame paint job so I took some muscle and sanded the entire previous paint job thoroughly. I then added 2 medium coats of hammered black and already noticed a huge improvement on contour due to the sanding run. I then waited 15 minutes between coats and added the Satin Black. However I went a little too thick and started getting wrinkles in a few spots. Dang it! I thought to myself, "well, if I'm gonna be sanding it again I might as well try something." I then took my 3000 grit sanding pad and started wet sanding the paint and noticed that the wrinkles were getting less visible and the paint started to glow...hmmm I see a huge benefit to "buffing" a paint job but in this case I was starting to go from a Satin finish to a more Semi-gloss. I really don't want a reflective paint job but boy does it feel smooooooth. I also don't want to spend hours buffing the entire interior of the airplane. SO, I'm thinking I may sand this down and hit it ONE MORE time with Satin black. I'll lose some of the hammered look but over time I'm sure the whole interior will begin to scuff and scratch and it will be a worry of the past. I've got ANOTHER 48 hours to think it over so I'll be giving it some thought. Maybe I can sand it with as low at1000 grit and not get scratch marks. IDK, we'll see.
