OH MY GOSH. So I figured out why after so many hours of labor I still had prominent waves in my contour. I Needed a RIGID sanding block. Now the Durablocks I have are supposedly rigid however, not when pressure is applied to them. So there I was for several hours working my butt off for such little results. Here me now, do NOT think you will get a FLAT contoured surface with a FLEXIBLE sanding block. So I busted out my 3 foot level, spread out a piece of sand paper on it and started sanding and to my pleasant surprise it cut through the high spots like diamonds on glass! No wonder I couldn't see them before as the durablock would flex over the top. Take a look at the pictures to see how many horrible high spots I was able to level out. I'm humbled and have learned a VERY good lesson. And I'm glad I wasn't willing to settle for sub par work.
