Brief Description:  Flushy push and rudder

After replacing the hinge halves, the aileron actually lined up better than before. Now the aileron is totally flush with the wing all around with no high spots. Plus, I was able to match the trailing edges up. Now this is good!
It was still early in the evening so I started working on the rudder. The outside was filled in order to flush the rivets out and make for a better contour overall. After sanding with 36 grit, then 80 grit, it got 1 thin layer of skim coat to find and destroy all pin holes and voids. I am thinking the rudder will be a fantastic test piece for my first run of epoxy primer in black. This should tell me if I've got my gun set right and how it will lay down on larger areas like the wing. If the rudder turns out good on the first try, then bigger sections will be next. I plan on 2 coats for every part then FINAL FINAL contouring prior to the 2 coats of white that she will fly in. how exciting!
