Brief Description:  Mystery solved...

So I decided I will worry every time I pull back on that stick unless I can know FOR SURE if My lift tabs are T3 aluminum per plans. But this story has a very bizaare ending...
I started the procedure of removing the right lift tab per the instructions and found it to be a very easy job to do as described, however when I removed the tab and tried lining it up with the replacement tabs the holes were WAY OFF. Not even a close match! What is this??? Well after a little investigation I learned that whoever built this canard used the GU tabs!?!?!?!?! How in the world did they get everything lined up on a Roncz canard using the wrong tabs?? Well, now i'm stuck with new replacment tabs that won't work and no way to retrofit them. SO, I contacted the Cozy Girls and was re-assured that if they were good enough for the GU than they should be fine for the Roncz. Either way to be EXTRA safe I sent them off with my friend Matt Beaty to have them tested for hardness and correct material. Tomorrow I'll get a report showing type and strength that will help me sleep like a baby :) The good news is that I only removed one and if all is well will have it back in place and laid up under 3 plies UNI by the end of the weekend.

Important update: 4/17/14. It is noted in the Roncz Canard build plans that on a NEW construction Long ez, the original GU lift tabs are ok to use on a new Roncz canard. THIS is why my canard has those tabs and everything lines up. In fact I checked the incidence again today and everything is within .5 degrees according to the longerons. I'm happy :)
