Brief Description:  Take that Oregon Aero!

So by now you all know that Oregon Aero seriously dropped the ball on my "overpriced" seats. Well one thing that has sat in the back of my mind for about a year now is that, in my opinion, the recline for the pilot is just a little to much. I understand for tall guys this is important but I'm 5-9 and I'd like a little more of an upright position. WELL, Oregon Aero was suppose to solve this issue and didn't so in my pursuit of happiness here I was actually able to solve 2 problems with 1 fix.
The ELT antenna is huge. It's GPS and 406 so either it hangs outside somewhere looking narly or I find somewhere that I can install it while still getting a good ground plain. SO I decided it would fit nicely between the passengers knees and be covered out of sight. This presented a challenge as the cables would have to be routed right through my seat and into my back. BINGO! I will reduce my recline by adding 3/4" to the seat back which in turn will house all of the ELT wires out of sight. Fabulous! So I made a 17"x17" piece of foam 3/4" thick and an extra strip on top, bonded them to the seat back, layed up 1 Ply of BID all over and BAM!..My seating position is now perfect and my ELT location and install is under way! More on that in another post
