Brief Description:  Zip ties galore

At this point, I'm pretty sure I've got about 50lbs of ZIp ties in my airplane...:) The engine was stripped of all white ties and replaced with black. I then added Adels to the rocker cover screws for a clean path to house the 6 EGT and 6 CHT wires. Quite the bundle! After changing adels and finalizing the engine compartment organization and tidy up, I headed inside to the turtledeck and spar.
I spent a good hour trying to cut out SS plates to accept rubber grommets to enclose the 2 firewall openings where wire bundles emerged but had a terrible time working with the SS sheet for a job that small. I started to inject the gap with Red RTV and I'm happy as it really seals it off around the wires, however it's quite ugly and adding a simple Aluminum plate around the wires may actually look a lot better and the RTV would serve as a good heat barrier. I ran out of RTV half way through so i'll have to finish when the new tube arrives Thurs.
I may have gotten a little zip tie happy on the ECU and EIS bundles, but they aint goin no where! LOL. The good news is that they all fit with about 1/16" clearance behind the passenger headrest. :)
The other project of the evening was to add 2 short sections of conduit over the wire bundles in the nose to protect them from the rudder cable. A job well done if I may say so :)
Finally I went into the lovely spacious spar hole of doom and zipped up all the wires there including giving as much distance as possible from those massive ignition coils. I REALLY HOPE there isn't any interference when I fire it up.. please please please please.....
