Brief Description:  Hardpoints made and floxed in

Today ended up being a little of a draw. I created both hardpoints from Red Oak and could not for the life of me thread the brass inserts into the oak. Hard stuff! I then thought that if the only thing carrying the load would be the threads on the brass then I may not want that anyways. I opted for the T-Nuts instead and installed the hardpoints with flox into the routed out canopy frame. After looking at the whole job after 3.5 hours I thought to myself that since the T-Nuts aren't Aviation spec, then worse case scenario would be the pins stripping out of the Zinc threads. I'll have to give this some more thought however, I may end up tapping the oak for the brass, floxing them in and calling it a day. The brass and pins mated together incredibly well.... more later
