It's always exciting when you design something that has never been done get to watch it come to life. Today I made 4 nutplate hardpoints out of .040 2024 T3 where the 316 hinges will be bolted to both the longerons and canopy frame. The reason these are so thin is because the hinge MUST sit close to the longeron in order to be concealed within the frame. This does not mean a weak point as they will be mounted directly to the longerons on the lower portion, and embedded in flox and glass much like the plans version in the canopy frame. more to come!
