Brief Description:  Time for plexiglass

In the spirit of wanting to keep all my lines smooth flowing from one surface to the next, I've decided to go ahead with the canopy construction while my engine mount is being made. This is the first time this canopy has seen daylight and boy is that smoked finish gorgeous. I set the canopy on top of the fuse to get an idea of what kind of lines she would give me. I'm pretty satisfied with how it came out but details will make it shine. I taped off the glass where the plans state to make a cut and used my dremel and grinding disk to SLOWLY cut along the line. My concern was that at 57 degrees inside the garage, the plexiglass can easily crack so working slow was the goal. Well, all went well until the dremel died and started smoking.... This one lasted several years so I'll be happy to replace it. I used my Fein tool to cut the rest and while it was ok, it felt much more risky than the disk. I got all the way back to the rear section and decided it would be best to take those curves with the disk, so I'll run by HF and pick up another throw away dremel for $20. Much better than the brand name dremel for $80. I'll gladly burn up 4 cheap ones if I have to :) The reviews were good so that probably won't happen. Until tomorrow that's all I got...
